The Weather is Profanity

The weather is profanity.  If not, then why are so many weather conditions 4-letter words?

For example:

1.  SNOW
2. Rain
3. Wind
4. HAIL
5. Heat
6. Zero (degrees)
7. COLD
8. Arid

There are others that aren't 4-letter words, but are just as colorful.

1. Sleet
2. Frost
3. Flood
4. Hurricane
5. Tornado
6. Tsunami
8. Blustery

Guess they ran out of 4-letter words for those weather conditions.  Hmmm....
